F
Faith Healing - To know that you and others can heal yourselves and others by simply believing it and channeling your own energy into the healing process.

False Awakening
- The event in which a person believes they are awake but are actually dreaming.

False Orb
- While looking like that of a true orb, they are merely refractions of light from the camera lens or even bugs, dust, moisture, pollen, rain, or any other millions of other particles. Often seen on film or video.

Ganzfield - A state of mild sensory deprivation, characterized by the presentation of homogeneous sensory fields. Thus, a person in Ganzfield will have diffusive plastic hemispheres over their eyes while in a dimly red-lit room, be listening to white noise through headphones, and be seated in a comfortable, semi-reclined chair. Its use in parapsychology is based on a noise-reduction model.

Guardian Angel
– An angel believed to be assigned to protect a particular person from danger or error.

Ghost
- A generic term referring to a form of apparition or supernatural entity which is believed to be a soul or energy of a person. It is typically the visual appearance of a deceased human's spirit soul.

Ghost Hunter
– Slang term for Paranormal Investigator.

Ghost Hunting
- A carefully controlled research project in which various methods and equipment are used to investigate reports of ghosts, hauntings, and other paranormal activity.

Ghoul
- Demonic or parasitic entity that feeds upon human remains.

Goat
- An experiment in which the subject does not believe in the ability for which they are being tested.

Gremlins
- A small pesky creature generally friendly but mischievous and involved in many electronically related pranks.

Hallucination - The distorted or false perception of sights and sounds of an object or event that are not actually present.

Haunt
- A ghost or spirit that returns to a place is said to haunt it.

Haunted
- A person, place and / or object that a spirit is attached to.

Haunting
- Reoccurring ghostly phenomena that returns to a location where no one is physically present. Generally ghost or spirit are attached to a person, place, or object that causes paranormal activity on a regular basis.

Hellhound (Black Shuck)
– Most commonly they are known to be a spectral death omen in the form of a ghostly dog from Hell. Found in mythology, folklore and fiction; they typically are of an unnaturally large size, black fur, glowing red eyes, super strength and speed, with ghostly or phantom characteristics, and sometimes even the ability to talk. They are often associated with fire, and may have fire-based abilities and appearances. Often their duties include guarding the entrance to the world of the dead or undertake other duties related to the paranormal, such as hunting down lost souls or guarding a supernatural treasure. As legend goes, if one happened to see the hellhound three times, he or she will die an abrupt and unseen death.

Hex – A magical spell, charm, or curse cast to influence one's fate or free will

Holy Water
– Water which has been blessed by a priest or clergy and is said to have the ability to negate negative forces.

Hot Reading
- A devious or fraudulent reading in which the reader has been given prior knowledge of the sitter.

Hypnosis
- A technique that induces a sleep like state in which the subject acts only on external suggestion.

Ignis Fatuus - A phosphorescent or spectral light, also called a will-o'-the-wisp or friar’s lantern, that that is alleged to be an indication of death. This phenomenon is considered by many to be caused by a spontaneous combustion of gases emitted by rotting organic matter. It comes from Latin Ignis ("fire") + Fatuus ("foolish") meaning Foolish Fire.

Illusion
- A delusional perception between what is perceived and what is reality.

Incubus
- A demonic entity capable of sexually arousing and sometimes assaulting women.

Inner Voice
- Receiving guidance and assistance from inside of you. It is also considered by many to be the ‘conscience’.

Intelligent Haunting
– Considered to be a haunting by a responsive entity and is dynamic in nature. The entity is believed to have free will or make conscious decisions.

Intuition
- Non-paranormal act of knowing without the use of usual rational processes that is gained through a perceptive insight. It is based partly on subconscious pattern association of known information, and partly on subconscious psi impressions.
